Local Area

Located at the northern edge of the Lake District national park. Low Fold holiday cottages are in a prime position to explore both the Lake District and North and West Cumbria including the stunning Cumbrian Coast.

The village of Tallentire is a sleepy one. A dog lovers, walkers and cyclist’s paradise with one village pub “The Bush” just a five minute stroll away. The Bush provides a warm welcome and serves good ales and home cooked food.

Our nearest town is the historic market town Cockermouth, just a five minute drive away. It is one of only 51 towns in Great Britain to be designated a “Gem” town. It is named after the River Cocker flowing into the Derwent River. Famous as the birthplace of both William Wordsworth and Fletcher Christian. Cockermouth is un-spoilt and enjoys lots of independent high quality shops, cafes and restaurants for you to explore along with all local amenities.
